Rachel Dunkel is a screenwriter based in Los Angeles whose work has been recognized by Slamdance, the Austin Film Festival, and the Humanitas College Drama Awards. With one hand each on the extremes of comedy and tragedy, she writes about obsession, addiction, loneliness, and how absurd it is to be alive at all.
A Florida native, she has since lived in Boston, Asheville, New York, and Detroit. She carries them all with her.
Rachel earned a B.A. in Literature kicking and screaming from The University of North Carolina at Asheville. She is currently pursuing an MFA at The University of Southern California in The John Wells Division of Writing for Screen and Television where she is a Jack Oakie & Victoria Horne Oakie Foundation Comedy Scholar. She graduates in May 2025.
